I'm having a 'sort of' (so not exactly) chicken-egg problem over here. My remote can put my HTPC into sleep mode without any troubles. However my HTPC will wake up right away after it has entered the sleep state. Turns out that it's the eHome IR receiver that's waking it up.
So what I've done is prevent the eHome receiver from waking up my HTPC. This works like a gem. I can turn my HTPC to sleep with the remote and it'll stay sleeping.
But now since the IR receiver isn't allowed to wake up my HTPC I can't wake it up with my remote.
Any solutions????

Have you got anything within the locality that could be sending a signal, wireless keyboard\mouse spring to mind, try moving them out of range or remove batteries.

Try the MST standby tool, you will need to re enable ehome, once the refresh button is pressed should list which components allow resume of standby.

Have you got any other remote software enabled, i know your on vista same as me, but stranger things have been known and forgotten about, like irserversuite.

just tried the MST tool and disabled all wakeup devices except for the eHome. I never manually instaled any ir software whatsoever. Just plugged in my ehome and let vista do it's magic. The problem still occurs.

anybody got an idea? In an ideal case the IR receiver should only wake up Vista if it receives a specific signal rather then any random IR beam.

Have you got under MP config\general "allow S3 standby even though wakeup devices are present" enabled.

If not install tomorrow's svn release (has some good updates\fixes) Read what it says as it asks you to remove settings, make sure you select no (unless you want to reconfigure).

Retest with standby with MPTestTool started and all logs deleted (first Button) collect the logs after doing a standby resume test a couple of times with problem occuring, collect logs (bottom button) and upload using go advanced + feature.

I couldn't find the advanced upload feature so I've attached the logs to this reply. I've putten the system to sleep 3 times. I've putten the remote in the closet to make sure it can't send a signal. I also don't see a red dot on the IR receiver (there's always this small red dot when it receives a signal). All three times the system woke up right away.

I again tried numerous ways of fixing the problem, making sure the IR Receiver isn't receiving any input, but it still wakes up my machine instantaneous. Anybody can make something out of the log files?

Lets make sure this is TVServer causing this, if you uninstall TVServer + client does the problem go away.

The only thing in logs is the fact it is resuming for a powerbroadcast event.
