I know I'm not the first posting problems concerning composite/s-video-in, but I haven't found anything to date to help me out. So I thought a new post might imply some new answers...
Here goes:
I recently bought a Hauppauge HVR-1300 (non-MCE) TV-Card with S-Video as well as composite-in. I'm using an external settop box to receive my TV-signal and this works fine with WinTV 6.0 (I simply add an S-video source and it works). In other words, I know the signal is sent correctly and I know the card is working correctly.
However, when I try to add the S-video channel in Mediaportal 1, nothing seems to work. I tried everything from simply clicking the button 'add CVBS/SVHS' to manually mapping every single option I could find with the 'add' button (under 'TV Channels'). I now have more than 10 different channels, but none of them work. When I start 'MyTV' it says 'No Tuning Information found', which (as I have found out) means that there is no signal.
Could anyone help me out, because I have been on the verge of throwing the entire TV-card out the window! BTW; if you need any specs I'm happy to give them, but I don't feel this is a hardware-based problem.
