I know I'm not the first posting problems concerning composite/s-video-in, but I haven't found anything to date to help me out. So I thought a new post might imply some new answers...

    Here goes:
I recently bought a Hauppauge HVR-1300 (non-MCE) TV-Card with S-Video as well as composite-in. I'm using an external settop box to receive my TV-signal and this works fine with WinTV 6.0 (I simply add an S-video source and it works). In other words, I know the signal is sent correctly and I know the card is working correctly.

However, when I try to add the S-video channel in Mediaportal 1, nothing seems to work. I tried everything from simply clicking the button 'add CVBS/SVHS' to manually mapping every single option I could find with the 'add' button (under 'TV Channels'). I now have more than 10 different channels, but none of them work. When I start 'MyTV' it says 'No Tuning Information found', which (as I have found out) means that there is no signal.

Could anyone help me out, because I have been on the verge of throwing the entire TV-card out the window! BTW; if you need any specs I'm happy to give them, but I don't feel this is a hardware-based problem.

    Fixed the problem

I guess nobody was able to shed some light on my problem. No worries, I was able to fix the problem myself.
The thing is that the Hauppauge HVR-series consist of a digital and analogue part, and MP allows you to only choose one or the other. What I suddenly realised was that the CVBS/S-video-in on the card is obviously part of the analogue section. So i switched from digital to analogue in MP config, added an SVHS-channel (settop box through TV-card) and there was light where first there was darkness! So for anyone else with the same problem (and I think this counts for the entire HVR-series), this probably is the solution!

Now I just need to sync Audio to Video together...

You and me both (only issues when DXVA = on)

Only issues with DXVA = on, you say? Hmmm, maybe I can try disabling DXVA and try it that way. The problem is, Hauppauge's lil' program 'Primary' allows me to disable DXVA, only to find it enabled again when I start the program again. How do you disable DXVA (assuming you also have a HVR-series TV-card)?
