Hi guys,

I wrote an email to KNC1 support too, asking if it is possible to get the SDK to develop support within 3rd party applications.

First answer came very quick within some hours, content:

No problem to get the SDK....

Then I replied asking how to get it and if there will be any costs?

No answer for a long time....

Then I wrote another email reminding the hotline about my request.

They replied that they don't need any reminder, my request was forwarded to their developer team and they will contact me as soon as possible.

No more answer since then :(

I think I'll sell my two KNC1 cards and forget about this f....ing devices ;)

Cheers

Found out that the Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C is more or less the same card as the KNC1 DVB-C and the Terratec BDA drivers can be used for the KNC1 as well.

Had to change the following in CaptureCardDefinitions.xml so that the KNC1 card with Terratec drivers gets recognized:
Canged
Code:
<capturecard commercialname="Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C" capturename="Cinergy 1200 DVB-C Capture (BDA)" devid="ven_1131&dev_7146&subsys_1156153b&rev_01">
To
Code:
<capturecard commercialname="Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C" capturename="Cinergy 1200 DVB-C Capture (BDA)" devid="ven_1131&dev_7146&subsys_00201894&rev_01">
The Terratec bda driver seems to be updated a lot more often and works just fine.

I made the same change, but my card is not recognized..
Oh boy...! :-(

Have a Technotrend DVB-C card which is stuttering due to problems with QAM256. Bought a KNC1 today to find out that it is also not working with MP.

Bad day!!!

Got it working with Terratec drivers, but this time the scrambled channels did not work anymore and very slow channel switching.

I bought a FloppyDTV on friday, it works like a charm. All channels, no stuttering, everything fine now.

BDA support is not very good with all card like Terratech, KNC One. I believe they use the same reference driver as they have the same chip on it.

Anyway. I am fine now..

Like jcee I bougt a FloppyDTV DVB-C as well. Since then all problems are gone - works perfectly - even HDTV channels (but HTDV channels are found in scan only with TVengine 0.3)

I can recommend everyone who want's to use DVB-C with MediaPortal to buy a FloppyDTV DVB-C. It's more expensive but it saves you from a lot of trouble you most probably run into with other solutions.
The PCI DVB-C cards mostly are working fine with the native WDM drivers and applications but their BDA drivers and BDA support are simply crappy.

Latest driver from KNC web-site.....

Version: 1.7.0.4
Size: approx. 510 KByte
Description: This driver is for every TV-Station DVB-S2/S/T/C and "Plus" versions. Please contact the current software producer for the support of this TV-cards.

Restrictions:

CI support only with compatible software

the analogue video capture port, the CineView modul, Windows XP x64 and Windows Vista x64 are not supportet

for Windows MCE 2005 and Windows Vista with Media Center you need the Microsoft Universal DVB Receiver (UDR, only for Microsoft OEM pards), DVB-C tv cards are not supportet

How can CI be supported without the CineView module?
