Do you need an iOS app for MediaPortal (library/remote)?

All remote apps are dependent on the backend MPExtended and WifiRemote. Oxan, Shukuyen, DieBagger and others are working really hard on these, and are doing a great job. Documentation and support for requests are great!

Still, all things are not included in the API:s so support for e.g. Lastfm, Pictures, Rockstar need to be included there before the apps could integrate support fore these.

I guess that all of us has the goal to include as much as possible.

Yes, of course. I thought the these API features are allready existing. Sometimes I expect too much. :)
Where can I find an overview of the API features and how to access it?

MPExtended is pretty good foundation. I am pretty sure they appreciate any help. So using (and extending) it would help everybody.[DOUBLEPOST=1345725782][/DOUBLEPOST]Would be the same with WifiRemote, of course.

My goal isn't really to include as much as possible in MPExtended, you'll definitely end up with bloatware then. For example adding Lastfm and Rockstar to the MPExtended API will boil down to proxying the API of the external services. That doesn't make any sense, you can better directly use the external API then. WifiRemote support for them might be useful though.

Anyway, most of the plugins which keep a local database are of course supported: MP-TVSeries, MyFilms, Moving Pictures, mvCentral, built-in MP plugins, etc.

(Disclaimer: I haven't used Rockstar or Last.fm, so I might be wrong here.)

I do not disagree with you Oxan, and I have not tried Lastfm either, and do not use Rockstar. I just gave examples with the plugins he asked for. Pictures support would although be nice to have in MPExtended:) .

Someone in this forum works on a plugin for Squeezeboxes. I would like, some time in the future, to add support for Squeezeboxes in eve. Of course it would be nice to have the API capabilties built-in in MPExtended/WifiRemote. This would allow for a much smoother integration(for me) and this feature could much easier be added for other clients as well. But you are probably right and I might see this as the perfect solution because most of the work would then be done by someone else:whistle:

We have an API and an implementation, I'm just not sure whether it still works. Nobody uses it as far as I know.

I'm afraid I won't have time to implement anything the coming months.

    Hi there,

I will be back soon to finally make some progress on CouchPotato, so that should do what you want (within the possibilities of mp-extended and wifiremote).
Planned to have that in for a long time, but real life happened ;)
