So everytime I wake up / restart / start Media portal it takes about 2 minutes but this error pops up. Took a pic of it cause its pretty long but wondering if anyone has seen it before or what might cause it.

I literally haven't touched or changed anything in months on it.

I am running MP 1.2.3 with standard plugin's like StreamedMP, Pandora, MovingPictures, MyTVSeries, youtube.fm, Rockstar ( dont use), and a couple others maybe.

I prob need to go through and turn off plugins and see if one of them is causing it but thought I would check for a quick fix.

Sorry for the huge picture..... but thanks for any help!

Update:

I quickly opened MyTVSeries and noticed that all my shows were missing so now I disabled that plugin and let it sit there and it didnt crash.

Now attempting to update MyTVSe and then enable it and see if it crashes again.

Thanks for the tip I have a feeling that was it or if not it was part of the problem whenever I went into settings it wasn't pulling up the database at all.

I just went ahead and deleted the database and am having it start over making it.....takes forever though lol so I will have an update on it tomorrow.

On a side note not sure if this is even a software problem maybe its hardware but Ill give it a try -

Whenever I wake the htpc and media portal starts - mytvseries is always doing its import thing - which seems to bog the system down but the thing that drives me nuts is sometimes when I am watching a show the episode will lag a bit like tiny skips or whatever. It usually only happens during the first bit of the episode then it smooths out. But it happens even when mytvseries isnt importing the bar can be gone in the top right and it will still do it a bit it seems..... although not as much.

My htpc is fed by another storage computer. It is connected via gigabit connection though and I have tested that and made sure it had full speeds.

Do you think its the htpc (being to slow or dated) or the storage computer (to slow) or the size of the database that just lags it up (coming in at around 12TB now)

HTPC has a Athlon II X2 2.8ghz 4gb ram and Nvidia 430
Storage is a Athlon 64 X2 2.6 2gb ram

I dont know if I simply just need a better HTPC to stream video smoother or if there is something I can do to make Mediaportal more efficient with what I have. Or if because of how many files I have if thats just the way it will be.

    Hi

Your DATABASE is 12TB - I assume that's your external content and not the DB:)

If your external content is that big AND you rescan on start up, that's potentially a lot of data to process - do you mark completed TV series as 'Ignore on Scan' - as once you have the info, why rescan is my view - and have you limits on fan art, etc etc - I currently have 130 odd series (less than 2TB), but only scan on about 8 of them, as other are finished or between seasons.

Also, once you have you DB, I'd suggest making copy of it and the relevant thumbs, so you can step back to a know working point and then update IF you get corruption (which I have had once, need full OS re-install & rebuild BUT TVSeries & Moving Pictures back to 95% correct in minutes from backups:). As with all backups, make it a regular task - for me, it's weekly.

Without knowing how often you add content, I personally would never run TVSeries on start up (or any other similar service - make debugging problems easier) and it has good options to scan on periodic base.

    Cheers - JCMP

Wow yes I need to go through the scan options. I thought I had gone through them before and not seen what I needed but ignore completed shows might work well for me I will try it out for sure once I find out if the new database fixes my crashing troubles.
