APOD (Astronomy picture of the day) plugin (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I've uploaded the initial release of my first MP Plugin - APODPlugin.

This is a simple plugin to display the current Astronomy Picture of the Day in MePo. The initial release is very basic, just displaying today's image, but I've got plans to expand it, specifically:

- let you move back through previous images
- add the text that goes along with the image to see the details
- anything else I think of.

Please post any requests/comments/bugs here!

I've just added an update to let you scroll back/forwards through the images with left+right.

could you compile this with MP 1.3 final dependencies... it is still at MP 1.2.3 ?

Which skin is supported? I'm using either Default 1.3.0 (4:3) or aMPed 1.5.1 (True4:3)

Sure, before the next release I'll update my dev machine to the latest MP (it's still on 1.3RC)
Currently it should install the skin file for Titan, Default and DefaultWide. There's only one file at the moment though, so you can copy it to any other skin folder easily.

just wanted to install your plugin. but there is no mpe1-file, only a update.xml.
How to install your plugin from update.xml ?

You need to click the big download button on the plugin page, that downloads the mpe1.

I do need to rebuild it for 1.4 though, thanks for the reminder.

thank you for telling me how to download the mpe1.
Tought the "big"-buttom ist for the commercial ...

Now i've installed APOD and see "andromeda" as picture of the day.
Wowwwww ...

Thank you.

But now i found a problem wenn escaping from APOD.
If i escape with ESC and reenter APOD, i have a never ending "waiting"-cursor.
Must restart MePo at this time.

Another error (may be it works as designed) appeares when browsing back (left cursor) till the end of the pictures.
Is this error-message ok?
I think i should be somthing like "No more pictures available .."

Thank you for your very fast help for my "silly" problem of downloading.
Normaly i use the MePo-Installer ...

Did you scroll all the way to the first APOD ever?

The plugin doesn't know how many there are, so it would have probably said "an error occurred", but I can probably fix that. If you go right, it should say "no more images available" or something...
