Not 100% related to Apollo. The logo manager for MP is already a great option. Could it be possible to allocate the logos manually by an Option Button ?
The grey background is not my favourite
Some logos are really hard to read
The source logos are all transparent and of different size. The LogoManager downloads them and applies a theme, which consists of different effects: https://github.com/MediaPortal/Medi.../Designs/Modern-StreamedMP 16x9-max.logotheme

We could have a "empty" theme without any processing, or only resize filter. As last step the SlimTv.Resources plugin needs a new setting to change the preferred style (was on todo list already, but no need to implement yet).

Btw, the current screenshot is not yet optimized, that's why the channel logos are so small. I also place them using a fixed height, but dynamic width.

Why not having this open on click and a click in this opened screen plays the media?
Because that means you need two clicks to play a movie instead of one, may not seem like a lot but most people will just want to hit play right away not caring for the extra info.
Yeah, I get your point. Then I have some other ideas:
    1. an info button at the right side of the selection panel
    2. make the fanart clickable to show the screen (I know that there should be the favourites but...)
    3. show it if you move right from the selected item (as you did it in Athena)

I think list and grid views should behave the same. Taking this as constraint, following would happen:
    1. Grid view (cover) doesn't have a panel, no place to click on
    2. In grid view you can't move focus to right side without need to step over other items (thus changing selection)
    3. same as 2.
Maybe we find better ways, so let your ideas flow :)

    Okay, one more: You wrote
Context (right click): Media Item actions (add all to playlist, set (un-)watched)
How about opening the screen with this action (context/right click) and have in it a button to open the media item actions? As this is not so often used as play the, two clicks may be more to cope...

    Could be an alternative.

In the actions is also "add all to playlist" (same as from menu, but menu is invisble by default). We could easily add a command "Media Details" there. Than you have to use "Context"->"Media details". One click more than a single button, but a common approach for interaction on a specific item.

    Here is the tvguide
The blue is the highlighted item and the green is the progress of the highlighted program instead of the ugly line going from top to bottom

how about the different colors for the genres? E.g. documentation, kids, movie, ...
I think this was the main reason to have the current time as a line.

Regarding slide in of player controls (PC): I didn't find a good solution yet.

I can slide out the PC out of screen by a render transform and animate it back into screen once it gets the focus. So far so good. But:
    1. once in intended place the buttons of OSD are no longer focusable.
    2. the PC is slid out also if there is no content shown
For 2nd issue I might be able to write a custom converter which counts the number of visible children. Or I need to exchange controls to get a dynamic height of layout. It's something I need to think about more :)

I thought about this as well.

I personally don't like the genre colors. The screen looks so fitful (is this the right translation?). IMO we should not use genres colors yet.
