Hi, good to hear from you again :)

Your points are all correct and on my todo list. I didn't fine tune each part yet, because during development I often change some general things that would again require rework of many smaller parts.

The text block width is fine it's only the size of the font that needs adjusting i am looking at the psd on my 50inch tv now and it looks great just the live version needs limiting to 3 lines and the font size increasing along with better spacing. As we keep saying though it's far from complete so things like offsets etc are still to be perfected by morpheus_xx.
The movie rating needs to be moved to the the same place as in the mockup as it breaks the flow and looks out of place, i will get the watched icons done asap.

    @wizard123
Thanks for the wonderful design! I would like to ask for your opinion regrding below

    Series list layout

In the movie list layout the movie description is in the bottom. I like this and it's consistant with the other views. In the mock-up for series list, I find the list in the bottom and the series description is in the middle. The list area in the bottom is little bit small. Especially in a season with many episodes it could be hard to scroll to the correct position. Where will be the content of each episode shown? How about having the same style as for the movies: List in the middle and content in the bottom. What do you think?

Good eye but it will actually be the same, the shot on the right is an older revision where the one on the left is what we are sticking with so all screens will use that style. I think this is the problem with posting progression in threads you get lost in the sea of images lol.

I now switched to default font size and it looks better already. But we would need code changes in font layouting routines to add custom line heights. For now I would like to avoid this, as I have some other plans for rendering parts in future.

I have some concerns about this. The space inside the highlighted row is limited. The star rating has 10 star controls to be placed into the selection. The current size is also not the same as you have designed: I now use the same width of left side, no matter if list or grid layout.

I moved the stars into the list (using paint.net ;)):

You already see, that the list of genres is a problem. We can use a fixed label width for it, but then it starts to scroll.

I wrote it above, but maybe it got missed: we don't have such a dialog screen here:
    apollo-movies-2-jpg.158450

How was your idea on user interaction to get this screen?
    We now have:
    • Focus item: Poster + Details
    • Click: Play / Play dialog (Play, Concurrent, Enqueue)
    • Context (right click): Media Item actions (add all to playlist, set (un-)watched)
Outside the MediaItems list the "Context" opens the main menu. This is already a duplicated action on same key.

That's why I currently have no idea about when to show such dialog with additional info.

On my remote I have an Info button and a menu button side by side. The info button is the same as right click. The menu button only is used during playback of a DVD (what I never do ;) ) , so this could be an option. With Mouse and/or Touch we can use a double click to reach this screen, but I don't know if MP2 is able to separate single click from double click... If I think a bit longer, the info screen should be on "info" and the context menu should be on "menu" buttons. This feels more natural, I'm sure

The background of the audio button has a strange blue background, when moving with the mouse over it
The audio button is too large compared to the other buttons. I'd prefer same height as the other buttons
The symbol of the audio button in"mute mode" is really hard to distingulish from "audio on". The cross would look clearer in red color
Generall all buttons (play, audio, pause, ...) are white unselected and selected. With remote control no problem, because the buttons will be pressed on remote control. For mouse usage it would be better, if unselected buttons are in "light blue or grey?" and selected in white.
It would look better without offsets between the movie and temporal fanart cover
I've adjusted those points now. Because we are using bitmap button, I can't change the fill color on-the-fly. But I can change the Opacity, which I do now: when not focused they have only 60% opacity and fade to 100% on focus.

In OSD bar, but also player control it is not possible to fast-forward the movie my moving the knob with mouse control. Intended?
Not implemented, so expected ;) We have no mouse/touch drag support yet for the scrollviewer. Would have been to be implemented first.

The audio controls are changed as well. I use a red line to indicate mute now. We have a control which can:
    • indicate active audio
    • indicate inactive audio
    • indicate mute (overlay over active)
See example screenshots. The focused buttons are now full opaque, others 0.60

Could be an option. But I find it nearly to complicated to have to use different buttons on a mediaitem to invoke different actions. I'd prefer something simpler (although I have no better idea yet).

This is actually how it was invisioned to use info button for the extra info dialog and context button for menu items, this is how i run my system now.

You are losing a small amount of space not having the scrollbar to the left and instead appears to be inside the control, also can the genres not be limited to 3 in that section ? it is only meant to be a quick overview of the movie the full list of genres could always go inside the movie extras dialog.
At the end of the day the design is the design if people like things in different places or views then that's what themes/mods were invented for and can be created when the skin is finished.
