Are there any special steps needed to get WASAPI exclusive mode working in Music? (1 Viewer)

Hi

Am running MP 1.4.0 Final and have WASAPI exclusive mode working for video playback using SAF V6 codec set but cant seem to get exclusive mode working in Music.

Using FLAC files (which play back OK in BASS mode) I only get a horrible hissing sound when I enable WASAPI exclusive playback. Using WASAPI shared mode does at least result in sound out through SPDIF but I would prefer to run in exclusive mode as there is a good chance that this would allow the SPDIF sample rate to be automatically set by the player rather than resampled??

Cant get any sound at all out od Music using ASIO and asio4all so am a bit stumped.

Is there a magic config needed to get exclusive mode working?

Nothing magic needed.
The log should tell us, what waspi modes your sound card supports. or at least what BASS thinks that is supported.

i'm leaving for vacation now, but can have a look at the logs, when i am back in 2 weks

You can also test if there is some generic WASAPI issue on your system by using MediaPortal Audio Renderer under my videos. If that audio renderer gives noise as well then there is probably some generic issue as both are using completely different code base for the audio playback.

I have problematic playback when using WASAPI in MediaPortal (works fine in Foobar except for nVidia Silent Stream bug), and I did wake up one morning to hiss when using MediaPortal Audio Renderer too. Using latest drivers.
