    Hi,

I have been struggling with setting up a TechnoTrend S2 3200 card for a day now.

I do not know what I am doing! I wonder if anyone can help?

I am on a communal SKY dish which our lovely council put in ages ago at cost to us. We left SKY soon after because MediaPortal got good!

I would have thought that everything is fairly standard in that setup, trouble is, I don't know what standard is!

What settings would I possibly need to get this card working?

I get no channels in the TTviewer either so this is unlikely to be a MediaPortal problem, although MP did crash on scanning once or twice.

    Thanks,
    Chirs

If you have a common interface attached to your card, try to remove it and scan again.

    Hi,

    Thanks for replies.

    Domarkas:
Have looked, but can't see anything as in depth as what I need. I have 2 DVB-T cards (3 tuners) working great.

    ghote:
I don't have a common interface, only want the free channels :D

Really I am looking to see if there are standard settings for my setup, 'cos I can't change it.

A nice man from the installation company is coming to check if there is a signal on Tuesday, so this may also help.

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi,

What version drivers are you using, When I updated to 5.0.0.19 from 5.0.0.12 I had some problems, before that I remember using 5.0.0.9 which didn't work very well and I found a post somewhere suggested update to 5.0.0.12 which fixed it. I don't know if this is any help! (I am about to move to the FloppyDTV DVB S2 anyway).

Also if you are planning to use the card to tune some of the basic channels Five, US & Fiver are encrypted as is 4+ I think so you may want to look at a Freesat card available from Sky to get these channels.

    Hi,

Where did you find the older drivers?

TechnoTrend's site is a bit of a joke. No archive, and a google search returned nothing.

The drivers on the CD were the 5.0.0.19 ones.

I want to get ANY channel working on this card before buying add-ons (I would have to buy the common interface as well, if I was to go down the freesat card route).

    Thanks,
    Chirs

    Hi,

I have attached a copy of the set I downloaded (I think from Satellites UK forum) Please take all appropriate precautions before installing them though.

    Hope you get it sorted!

Hi, I have just setup the same card with the latest drivers and everything seems OK. The fact that you get no channels in TTviewer either suggests a possible Sat feed problem or you are scanning the wrong Sats. For UK channels you should be scanning Astra 28.2E

    Cheers...

    Hi,

    Thanks for replies.

    All very helpful.

    John,
This is ver useful, I really appreciate it.

I still have no signal, but at least I know it is not a driver issue now.

    clanmackenzi:
I am slowly coming to the same conclusion.
I think I have scanned on every possible combination of Satellite and LNB. The list is restrictive in the TT viewer anyway, and I always scanned on a complete scan.
I don't think anyone else got connected to this dish system in our building.... I wonder why?!
The cable guy (yawn) is coming on tuesday so I suppose we will soon find out.

    Thanks,
    Chirs
