Hey all,
After testing MP on my regulair pc I tought i install it on my htpc (mce2005)
I only found that on startup, there seems to be all kind's of 3d artifacts in the ui. The effect looks like the effect what ye get with an broken 3d card (yeah, i had my share of broken card's in the past:p )
Allso all kind's of letter's are missing. I tried different skin's, adjusted all different kind's of setting's in the configuration, updated xp mce, reïnstalled a load of drivers, buth nothing seems to work.
I noticed btw that the artifact's only occure when I mousover a button (Thus highlighting it) or near text. The artifact's seem to originate from these 2.
While playing video's everything seems fine. It's just the UI.
I searched the forum buth coudn't find annything related to my problem. (only playback artifact's 'n stuff)
I normaly never post question's on forum's, i just try and try and try untill i figure the problem out:) . Allas i can't find an sollution, and as i have grown fond of MP i really want to use it on my htpc.
As i am quite new to ask annything on a forum, it's possible i forgot some info 'r something. Just ask, and i'll supply;)
:D

I would still be looking at the GFX card as the cause.
If you get artifacts and errors in just the graphics, then it may be the cache needs to be recreated (delete the contents of the cache folder) but in this case I don't think that would help...

Since the GUI is rendered by the 3d card then it makes sense that the problem you describe would happen that way (IE, GUI bad but video good).

    Hope this helps...

    Marcus.

Funny how ye can search a forum, try searching every word that relate's to the problem, can't find annything. And then when ye finaly post, there IS a tread about it. Having a noobish feeling here.
Thnx for advice, while try that. Whil post if that resolve's the problem.

OK, reinstalled driver's: no change. Tampered with anti-aliassetting: no change.

Then i tought what the heck let's try the agpx4 instead of x8 what swifty said:
Try adjusting AGP speed if you have problems, I was getting wierd corruption under MP with my GF5200. I turned down my AGP speed in the BIOS from 8x to 4x and havent seen this problem since!

    strangely enough, it worked!
    Thnx for responce

(PS: i noticed while i had the problem that the artifact's where pure text based, the white line's 'n stuff i saw where letters. If there was a button with text, and some letters where missing. Then there would be those artifacts. Looked like the where upside down and stredged allmost beyond recognicion.)
