Astra 1N Tuning Details (1 Viewer)

Hello,

Astra 1N has now gone live and channels (at least in the UK) are beginning to move over to it.

It seems that the tuning details are not in the XML for 28.2e satellites. I managed to get Channel 4 HD back by manually tuning 11126MHz Vertical though.

Would an updated XML file be helpful if I were to make one? How would I submit it for inclusion in the next MediaPortal?

It didn't work for me - I had to do a manual scan, even though I had updated the satellite list (I'm running v1.2.1). It took a week of head scratching to solve. The automatic scan failed to find anything at the new C4HD frequency.

I'm using a technisat skystar2 HD; for me, I had to set the modulation type to 8PSK to get the channel on a single transponder scan as well as the frequency etc. For some reason it seems to be a bit set up or card dependent as to whether you get C4HD automatically or not.

Same, the update satellite list didn't find it. So I assumed the XML needed updating on the mediaportal servers.

Hmmm Interesting.

Having found that I had lost C4HD I went through a couple od days of head scratching then did the satellite update and re scanned picking up C4HD on 11126000 which I just checked and is working fine.

I updated my satellite list before my first DVB-S2 scan last night and although Channel 4 HD was found, none of the new Channel 5 services were found. I even tried scanning manually and found nothing.

What settings did you use for the manual scan? For the C5 services you'd need to be using:

Frequency: 10964000
Symbol rate: 22000
Polarization: horizontal
Modulation: not set
Inner FEC rate: 5/6
Pilot: not set/not defined
Roll off: not set/not defined

The modulation is critical.

[Edit: having said that, I can confirm that the transponder is definitely listed in the current tuning details that you'd get if you updated now - can't speak for last night though...]

It turns out they were found, they were just incorrectly flagged as encrypted!

Help please.

I simply cannot get Channel 4HD picked up on a new scan. I have updated the satellite list and rescanned, but nothing. I had removed the previous entries for this channel and now it doesn't reappear at all. I tried a manual scan - nothing.

Any further suggestions would be gratefully received.

Ignore me, I was just being unobservant. It had been found - I just couldn't see for looking!
