Hi,
Just bought a nice 750G HD for all the media. And thought it was a good time to start from scratch.. Fresh install of XP. In general I want to keep the system as clean as possible. Avoid garbage so that playback is as smooth as possible..
If it watch TV CPU usage is about 60%.. I thought that my X1300 would help in decoding that in hardware. Apparently not.. Google really doesn't help much to figure out how everything fits together.
What I think I understand so far:
- ATI does not deliver a dedicated MPEG2 decoder (like Nvidia does). It just accelerates apps that use DXVA
- There is no free MPEG2 decoder that uses DXVA?
- MP's MPV decoder is also not hardware accellerated?
So there is no (free) way to leverage the x1300 hardware decoding?
Tx
