Hi. I'm new to MediaPortal and didn't find any recent thread or bug report about this, so I'm posting here.

I can sucessfully scan all the ATSC channels in my area on my TV Server, but one of them which is on the air reports "nothing found". By looking at the log, I get "Scan got 0 from 0 channels" even though the signal is at 100%. I don't know what to do.

Any help or suggestion would be great! Thanks.

Here is an except from the log:

Okay... the problem is solved (for now).

Someone had the exact same problem with CHCH (Toronto) in this thread:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-2-0-beta-540/atsc-scanning-problem-99537/

In the thread, mm diagnosed there was a problem with the PID of this station and posted a new tswriter.ax to try to resolve the issue for the OP (it did). My particular problem is with CJNT in Montreal which happens to have the sameowner as CHCH, which made me think the technical reason could be identical.

So I tried the new tswriter and guess what? It works.

I hope that patch will make it in the main tree and keep my fingers crossed.

    Hi omasse

Please email the provider and ask them to fix it. As explained in the thread they are actually not following ATSC guidelines so I'm reluctant to add the patch.

I did so yesterday, with the technical data you provided in the other thread. No reply as of now but I'm hoping they will send it to their technical guy, and that he will actually consider it.

I'll try to do some sleuthing on rabbitears to find if many stations have that same issue as CHCH and CJNT. If there are some more, it might justify an "ignore non-compliant PMT PIDs" option in MP.

    Thanks!
