Are your HD Channels showing up red or green?

Even with this rev my still show up red and are treated as a scrambled channels. Like I mentioned in the post above, not a big deal since I can still tune them but just curious if I have something still not right or using a wrong setting.

Mine are showing up as red too. At least the unknowns are gone, because it makes it a lot easier to rename and setup epg, but I'm still missing a channel.

Hooray,

This is a big step forward! I'm now able to tune most of my QAM HD channels. The channels are still showing up red but work anyway. I am, however, having the same 'UnableToStartGraph' problem as bobbyd87 on a few channels. Any suggestions on fixing this?

Thanks,
Ryan

My guess is that you are having the same exact error in scanning that mine did. Can you export your channels into the xml, then go into the channels that give the error. My guess is that the pmt, network id, and service id values are either blank or zero.

A lengthy workaround that i found worked is to install GBPVR, do a scan with that for the ATSC/QAM channels, then copy the values that are missing into the exported xml and import that.

Thanks for your work on this, gemx. After my last post I figured that this update might have taken care of the QAM reception issues so I did a full re-install yesterday with the latest SVNs. My first scan (IRC) found about 10 TV Stations and over a hundred Radio Stations. None of the TV stations would tune and, curiously, some of the Radio Stations were on freqs that I had determined (with TSReader Lite) to be my targeted TV Stations.

I re-scanned in HRC+3 mode (which corresponded to the 6MHz intervals found by TSReader Lite, for example 657000) but nothing was found at all. Surprisingly, the scan completed in about a minute compared to the 2-hour long scans at other modulations.

I scanned again overnight at HRC and no channels were found. After scanning again this morning in Standard I had similar results to IRC, just fewer channels. Nothing would display (Unable To Start Graph).

I never got any "red" channels reported above. If these scans continue to fail, how can I incorporate the data I've gotten from TSReader Lite into Media Portal so that I can record Lost tomorrow on ABC (Program 1, 657MHz, PID 2048 & 2049)?

Thanks again!

If you know exactly what frequency it's on, you can make a new .qam file with only that frequency so that the scan occurs quickly. Check this site as well, hdhomerun/channels - Silicondust it will confirm the frequencies along with giving you the service id. If you are stuck completly, you can install GBPVR and take the information from there, and do an export, edit the values like i mentioned on the previous page, and import them again.

It's weird. I know exactly what frequency TSReader tells me it is (which corresponds to freqs provided in Media Portal's "QAM HRC+3.qam" file). No channels are found when I scan HRC+3, however when I scan IRC I get a whole bunch of radio channels and about 8 tv channels. The odd thing is that none of the TV channels will tune (scrambled or unabletostartgraph) and some of the radio channels fall in the range of where my HD QAM channels should be. I was actually able to get some of the radio channels to play, curiously. What the heck is going on?

Oh, I installed GB-PVR and in the setup I had to download the EPG data before it would scan for channels. GB-PVR also found nothing.

With TSReader Lite I can identify frequencies, PIDs, Transport Stream IDs, and all sorts of other data. I can stream actual programs in HD for a whole minute with the free version. I've tried manually putting this into export.xml and reimporting it but all I managed to do is muck up my SQL database in the process (tv config wouldn't clear channels and I started getting a bunch of "all channels" grouping tabs that would not go away). I'm unable to find support resources that identify what each of the parameters mean within the export.xml file.

how do you know the frequency for digital channel is?
