    Hi there,

I have already posted this question in the CODEC area of the forum, but have had little response which leads me to think that it is not a CODEC problem at all (mods, please delete as appropriate, but I think this is a better place for my question with your approval).

My system generally works fine (on a completly fresh XP SP3 install after a hardware upgrade), except when I play HD TV or and HD .ts file with non DTS sound. There is always a massive lag between the the audio and video (very poor lip sync). When I press play (or tune to BBC HD / ITV HD), the video starts almost instantly, and then the audio starts about 2 second later and they are instantly out of sync by about 2 seconds (with the video leading the audio).

If I press pause button and then unpause, the audio plays for about 2 seconds and then the video starts and things are in sync, however they quickly drift and become almost unsyncronised with an ever increasing difference between the audio and video (always with the video leading the audio).

It is clearly only a problem with .ts .264 format for recordings and live TV since SD TV and video works fine, as do blue ray discs and .264 MKV files which are DTS encoded.

The same channels and films worked fine with my old system with 1.0.2 installed and manually set codecs (I am now using SAF but the same CODECs).

Attached are my logs (please ignore the music watched folder errors, I am currently moving files around on the file server).

    Any ideas?

Thanks (and sorry for the repeat post)

    Robbo

    romuz,

Your link seems to take me to a release from the 12th Dec 09. Is that the latest version which is un-released with any SVN?

The link Jameson gave me way to the original beta version of the file.

I will try then both and report back.

    Thanks

    Rob

Well, I tried the experimental version posted by romuz and it seemed to work instantly with watching live .264 TV (that said, I only tested it briefly as I had to go and build a snowman in the back garden - we don't get snow here very often)

I did try to replay a recorded programme that I recorded from BBC HD using MP 1.0.2 and the lip sync was horrendous. I shall have a more detailed look tonight and report back (including doing some new recordings etc).

    Thanks

Please dont report any issues with that experimental TsReader version as

    1) it is known to stil have few issues
    2) it requires small changes to core.dll to work correctly
