Audio CD's not playing with BASS (1 Viewer)

Hi everybody,

I am working on my first htpc. Things are working fine mostly and I think MediaPortal is a great solution.
Thanks so far to the community and the developers

However, I encounterred a problem and could not find any help in the forum.

While the system plays my mp3 collection very fine, It does not play AudioCD's at all.
I played around with the settings, but did not find any resolution.
Winamp as well as WMP play the CD's, so it does not seem to be related to the disks.

Chicking the MediaPortal log I found that it says:
"BASS: CD: BASS_ERROR_DEVICE.
2008-09-14 15:53:30.656250 [ERROR][MPMain]: BASS: Unable to create Stream for I:\Track01.cda. Reason: BASS_ERROR_DEVICE.

This goes on for all the tracks on the disk

BTW: DVD's are playing fine, as well as TV and radio...

I know there was a problem with bass skipping cd tracks, which hwarrman fixed.

So maybe try the latest svn version of MP, uninstall TVServer + client plugin first from add remove programs, chose no to remove database, then update mediaportal from the download and then reinstall the tvserver\client plugin also in download, hopefully that should give you cd playback

Solved - Do not use Drivespeed!

Hi,

thanks for the support, however, this did not resolve my problem.

Anyway, during my trials, suddenly it worked, I could play my Audio CD's. But I noticed that the CD drive was spiunning up to normal (high) speed == lots of noise. So guess what? I exited Mediaportal, realised Nero Drivespeed was not running, started it up asnd whow, back in Mediaportal, AudioCD's where not running again!!

Did severall tries, and indeed, whenever Drivespeed was active, AudioCD playback was not possible.

In the meantime I changed to CDbremse, also controlling the CD drive speed and this one is compatible to BassCD == I can play AudioCD's and still have low rpm's on my CD drive!!
