Audio issues TV LCD HDMI, stops playing (1 Viewer)

This problem has been discussed several times now, but without any final solution:
MediaPortal stops playing music when TV is turned off.

Only happens with HDMI, seems to happen at the same time when Windows plays its USB device lost sound.
Also the MP font seems to be stretched badly after turning the TV back on.

Your info is a little limited. but let me try

I am pretty sure it is not related to Mediaportal, but to the driver settings of your system

When your TV is on, Mediaportal play music, right? I guess you have your TV connected to your sound system using the red/white stereo audio cables (or with 6 wires when having 5.1 audio). What is happening is that the PC sends digital Audio over the HDMI to the TV and then your TV sends the converted audio to your sound system and speakers.. Turn off the HDMI Audio driver (this must be an Nvidea driver) and make sure the realtek audio driver is used at all times, should solve this problem. Audio is then send to the sound sustem via the 7.1 analogue outlets on the on board soundcard or even send over spdif digitally to the sound system. You should be able to check and make it work in windows device manager.

The stretching of fonts seems a display resolution problem, probably it switches back to a default PC resolution or something. When HDMI is switched off, VGA mode turned on (1024x768 display on a 16:9 widescreen TV looks a little stretched). You should be able to set this right in the Nvidea graphics control software.
