I have an issue and am a bit of a novice so bear with me ...

Running Media Portal on a XP rig ... Dual Core Athlon 64 .. 3800

My Hauppauge Nova dual digial card is doing everything that i expect it to .. Channels work with sound and picture .. all is good.

However - i need to have an analog card to support one TV channel and my Pay TV which comes in via RCA inputs. For some reason i bought a FlyDVB-T Hybrid card.

Media Portal wouldnt detect the card .. i edited the capturecarddefinitions file with the moniker of the card and it was detected.
In MediaPortal Setup i tried to add the card but was presented with a can not create graph error ...

I then installed the TV application that came with the card and fired it up ... Pay TV and my missing Analog channel worked in that application.

I subsequently closed the application and tried adding the card to Media Portal Setup again. This time the card was added without the graph error. I was able to scan the missing analog channel and PAY TV ... I was happy ...

UNTIL

I fired up Media Portal .. went to My TV and changed to a new channel ... No audio .. picture is fine but the sound isnt there ...

If anyone could provide suggestions i would be most appreciative .. Either here on MSN me on RufusRex_1@hotmail.com

Cheers

Ok ... got a partial solution ...
switched to the cyberlink codec and audio was heard ...

however, this just introduced a new problem

I have PayTV via the RCA inputs and my analog station tuned in ...

When I launch My TV it will grab the audio source from the first channel accessed and hold onto it .. If i go to the PayTV channel then it will play the correct video and audio streams .. If i change to a digital channel on another card it will play the correct audio and video streams .. If i change to the analog station it will display the correct video but play the audio from the PayTV ....

If i restart MediaPortal and go straight to the analog station it will play the correct audio/video streams .. but if i change to the PayTV channel (via rca) it will display the video correctly but play the audio from the other analog channel ...

wierd ....

Sounds like the wrong audio pin is being connected.

I take it your using driver 2.11.2.1 and application 1.4.30

Very strange, you could not get any video with MPV and MPA codecs.

Also installing the application should not have effected whether MP can use or not, BDA drivers are usually enough.

Wondering if it is something to do with their Multi Stream Technology that may be tied to the card, causing this issue.

Only way of proving it, is uninstall application and leave drivers, if you cannot access the analogue side of the card, then the software is tied to the driver and the codecs supplied with the software.

Cannot even check whether my Lifeview Duo (same driver\software) will work as never bothered to configure with MP as reception\picture quality for analogue so crap in AT's own software (digital worked great) and no external source to connect to.

Wish i could be a bit more informative, hopefully someone may be able to give more help.
