It depends from other things too , but the main reason is the T.V. and lag. The problem also occurs in 60 hz but it is a lot smaller just because the the T.V. process the image heavier in 24 hz , so lag rises even more. And the problem does not occur so badly when i watch sd stuff , just because the T.V. also process hd stuff heavier. So don't think one way .The source of the problem is one , but it depends from other factors too.
Hi guys!! I just wanted to add something about this topic that i discovered in my case , and in my case this is the problem. I used every possible combination of codecs and operating systems , and i tried almost every trick that is reported through out internet i order to fix the audio out of sync problem. So i concluded that the problem is not the pc , the codecs or the drivers. The problem relies in my T.V. itself. I am using a 42'' philips LCD which has the 100 hz option with philips natural motion. When i turn this option on , which for me was one of the main reasons buying this T.V. , LAG is introduced. Initially i thought that this was causing problems only in games ( delay in the commands given by keyboard or mouse) , but after all i discovered that this was the issue in my movies as well. So what i say is that if someone set his T.V. to process the image too much , with all these new characteristics like natural motion , then lag is introduced and while the sound arrives sooner at the receiver , the image stays back and the sync problem comes . Of course the problem is not appearing to all users , just because some T.V.s don't have such big lag as philips or let's say an other brand. I have seen that Sony for example doesn't have big lag , even with 100 hz processing on. That's why when i used hdmi from my graphic card for sound and image together i didn't have delay issues. My T.V. is designed to take both picture and audio and to sync the output result. But when i sent my sound to an external receiver the problem was introduced because the T.V. had nothing to do with the audio. So what i did, was to set audio delay in AC3filter , somewhere near 350 ms. Problem was gone. I am going to stick with it , until i change my T.V. , and next time i am going to buy a T.V. i will be very careful about lag times. I hope all these help. I would also like to add that the audio out of sync problem is not related to only one thing.
