Congrats, that now reminds me of somebody on the forum who had a mini-display with seperate folder that had mediainfo registered into registry that was causing a conflict with the mediainfo.dll in MediaPortal folder.

It really can be a pain sometimes to debug, as same symptom can have multiple causes, but glad you found it :)

So I spoke too soon. Renaming the remaining Mediainfo fixes the issue so it is clearly the problem. On a client in a multi-seat configuration what do I lose if I just leave it renamed to .old?

Depends how the multi-seat config is done, technically the client doesn't need to re-do the mediainfo at all if it copies the data from server, unless you use the framerate changer. But with MediaPortal having a current MediaInfo.dll it should also work without issues, unless you got registry conflicts.

So where in the registry would I look? Under Software\Team-MediaPortal, HKCR, or possibly Software\Mediainfo?

Btw, should I be able to register the mediainfo.dll?

    Edit:

Its been 24 hours now and my latest fix seems to be holding. I moved the mediainfo.dll into the System, System32, and Syswow6432 directories under Windows. It is almost like it had to timeout on each directory in the path before finally looking in the MediaPortal directory.
