Austar tuning on HTPC (1 Viewer)

I have an Austar subscription and put a Hauppage satellite card in my HTPC as I think it is a neater arrangement just having my black Antec overture box in the cabinet below the plasma screen.
Everything works fine, Austar and Digital FTA (captured on DNTlive).
I have just looked at media portal and It looks perfect as a contol system for everything.
My problem is I can scan both the digital and satellite programs with media portal setup and all programs are displayed but only the FTA and Expo will show on the TV screen.
I couldn't find optus on the set up so I made a sat. config file with the frequencies from Lyngsat.com and the LNB from my Austar dish.
Can any one give advice as to why the channels won't display?

Are the channels listed in Configuration/Television/TV Channels?

If so, are they assigned to the correct card in the TV Cards tab?

I think so.
Here is what i have done.
Cofig/television/capture card
Hauppage Nova-s Card 1 true true
DNTVlive DVB-T Card 2 true true
TV Channels--All Sat channels and all DVB-T channels are listed
TV Cards
Available-All listed
Assigned
Card1 -those for -s card
Card2- those for -DVB-t card
TV Channel groups--I made one group for Austar and one for FTA
I put appropriate channels under each

When I run Media portal TV- I can view FTA group.
The austar group channels may be selected but still won't view.
I can not see any thing else in the set up that I should do.
As mentioned previously all channels will display under their individual software.
I am using dba drivers for both cards.

OK, could you please post your completed Support Template with the MediaPortal.log for when you are trying to view the Austar channels - this might provide a clue to the problem?

I have found that Satellite channels are displaying, it is just those scrambled that will not display.
The Nova pci-s card is working properly under Media portal. Media Portal just does not recognize the Austar Subscription card. It is recognised with the Nova software.
Would it be difficult to make Media portal recognise this legitimate subscription card?

hi all,
Im curious on what I need to do to pick up the optus c1 channels with MP, I know I wont be able to view them(encript) but there is at least 1 FTA on the sattillite.

I can pick up all of them with DNLIVE! software but none with MP..

Mp detects my dvb-s card but I cant get anything.
Ive played around with the settings but still no go, im missing something....help?

Im not sure if this will help but here goes

Im currently using selectv

Twinhan DVB S CI with idento cam

I find that the encripted chanels wouldnt display unless i remove and reinsert the cam and smart card

One question, can you actully select the channel in mediaportal if so then try removing inserting the cam (while its running), then change through a couple of encripted channels

If you cant even find (or select the channel in mediaportal) then try selecting a different group

I find once thats done, all is good.

If i do a reboot i have to do the remove reinsert thing again
