I am wondering what people in OZ are using for their TV Guide info.

I was using Big Kev's utility for a while, but newer versions (from 10 or so on) never worked for me (on 0.2.3.0 stable & no TV server). And of course, the newer versions are the ones that fill in missing data for HD channels from the SD ones... :(
Currently I am getting MP to get the info from the stream, however, I rarely get any info for SBS.

I am wondering what others are doing, and how/if they are filling in the gaps in the HD channel guides with info form the SD channel to get a complete list.

I looked at using WebEPG, but it doesn't appear to include the HD channels? Unless I missed something (or need to upgrade to 1.0RC2).

Thanks all.

Well, I just attached a tuner to my pvr (which really puts the r in the pvr) and while I'm at it upgrading to 1.0rc2. I'm looking at this epgstream thing. I've had absolutely no luck with xmltv or webepg, as they contain too many worrying gaps in the epg. On the other hand, epgstream seems to be ok, with the exceptions that I'm still to get it working in 1.0rc2! It was working this morning prior to my upgrade.

I'll follow up my last post. I've got the EPG working brilliantly using the EPGstream data. Currently, I've only just done a manual download using the EPGstream xmltvDownload utility, but as it worked so well, I'm thinking of whacking a little bit of cash in their direction to get the automated bit running. I'll see how it all goes over the next couple of days.

sorry, don't have a UHF antenna yet so no SBS, but just using DVB-T Stream to get EPG on all other channels. Works good enough.

Other than that, my suggestion would be to upgrade to TV Server unless you have a reason not to. Big_Kev's software is awsome for the Aussie guides. I think somewhere in his thread there is a replacement for the legendary JRobbo guide's which were the best for Aust and you maybe able to use that in WebEpg.

I am currently just using the broadcast guide info.

SBS is the only channel to not provide full data for an entire week. Which is irritating.

Also pretty much none of the stations really fill in the EPG data properly - genre, actor, etc fields are usually blank.
But, still, I'm using it because it's better than having missing channels/programs from any web sources I can find.

Ok. An update. I've noticed a few gaps in the epgstream data. Anyway, I've turned the dvb epg function on, with the "fill in the gaps" setting. Now it seems very complete. Other than a problem with audio not syncing with my amp when going from PCM -> AC3, I'm very impressed with 1.0RC2 so far.

    Thanks all for the replies.

Looks as though it might be time to upgrade from 0.2.3.0 stable to 1.0RC2...

runner01, I have sent angusman a PM as suggested also.

I have just set up Mediaportal RC2 and love how stable it finally is.
I come from lots of experience with MCE and SageTV.
    I have 4 tuners (2 x DigitalNow PCI-E cards)
I use ICETV for my EPG, and I just use the inbuilt MP grabber to takes ICE's tvguide (tvguide.xml).
Very easy, easiest so far for any mediacentre. You just change the found channel names to ICE tv's names and Voila !
For $3 a week subscription you're mad using anything else . And I have dabbled with them ALL.
    Love it.
