before upgrading to the latest version, i was able to put different images in (using tv as an example):

Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\skin\StreamedMP\Media\Animations\tv

and i was able to get it to rotate images every 30 seconds or so.

in the new version i see the wallpaper tab but it only lets me select a default per catergory which i assume just renames it to "default" but am i missing something or can the images not automatically change?

The feature you are refering to has been removed from the current release due the memory problems the multimage control caused.

We have replaced this functionality with Fanart Handler that performs basiclly the same task, only currently less directorys to play with.

See the Fanart handler Wiki UserGuide - fanart-handler - Enable Music Fanart. - Project Hosting on Google Code for details of ho to setup the images.

To use these within StreamedMP you will need to enable the Fanart Handler for the menu items you want rotating fanart for.

Thanks

I would say give it another go, the older version do not fully support the latest MP releases as there have been a number of changes to MP that has required updates to all skins and you could have a few issues.

For movies, it will get the fanart from either it's movie folder or, if using MovingPictures that fanart from there (unless you overide).

Not sure what you mean by getting anything to play? Are you going back to an older skin or MP version?

We will try and help where we can if you are having issues, we have tested the skin extensively but will try and resolve any issues that may exists quickly.

Thanks

i tried different folders but movies seemed to be getting them from somewhere where i wasnt specifying and it was annoying as tv worked without any problem. i even deleted the folders and let MP create a new movies folder for the art, put them in there and they pulled stuff from elsewhere.. urgh.

i installed the latest version of MP and same goes for streamedMP, when hitting enter to play something, it will just hang and thats both tvseries and movingpictures. i gave up after 5 minutes of waiting.

i went back to the previous versions i was using (MP v1.1.0b1_rev23491, streamedmp v0.9.601) and while its not as polished as the newer versions i was using (MP v1.1.0 rc2 rev 22546 and streamedMP v1.0.3.1223) it works with exactly the same settings, so i'm at a loss really as i like the newer look home screen and weather :(

Hi lanceuppercu

I know it has been a little since your last post, but regarding the media not playing when you click on it, check this thread:

https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/streamedmp-301/playing-recorded-tv-causes-hang-83146/

As for the Fanart Handler not getting images from the right location, the only thing that I can suggest is to make sure that in the streamedmp configuration, you enabled the fanart handler, and had the correct base category chosen that matches the movies that you imported. I have done this and hadn't had a problem with RC3.

Good Luck!

hi bnsaflsujt, to be honest i gave up and went back to the old version as it was working but am keen to get myself on the new version so will give what you suggest a try tonight.

although my problem is not "recorded tv" but "moving pics/my-tvseries."

Hi Lanceuppercu:

That is where I had my problem too. Trying to play any video file would result in an instant hangup, so I think that that file should help you.

Good luck!

ahh looking at it, this might be why i was a bit perplexed at why it would work fine on my main pc but not the htpc, in my add/remove i have "mediainfo 0.7.27" that i must have installed at some point, not sure why though!

you legend! i installed the latest mediainfo and its working!

edit: and i managed to get my original problem working now, figured out what was wrong, for some reason the streamedmp editor, when you want to set the fanart handler to do its job, it defaults the folder name to "movie" but the folder structure is "movies"

a browse button when choosing manual folders would be pretty nice i guess? (or the above structure fixed)
