How do I get rid of this equalizer?

I agree, the equalizer really bugs me as it is an irritating, flashing non-functional function. How can I remove it the best way?

Why not delete it from the media folder for now?

I like the new watched/unwatched icons... but I still like having the color of the text be different as well.
