Yep, tried all that. But I'll do all the testings I did at that time again with the recent SVN versions, on both my PC and the HTPC.

Well, I tried different settings in the driver and video renderer again, but nothing had any effect on this issue. The only way I get 50 FPS is as described before: enter My TV, select the video area, hit enter, hit enter again to enter fullscreen mode when the video starts playing. In this state it will stay at 50 FPS most of the time.

However the frame rate will immediately drop back to 33 FPS if I do any of the following:

• not enter fullscreen and show FPS in My TV
• opening up the MiniEPG in fullscreen
• going back from fullscreen to My TV

I think I'm having the same problem - flawless 50fps for 1080i channels, 37.5fps for 720p channels; see this thread: Only 37.5fps on Progressive channels

Well, it still seems this is not (directly) related to the PowerDVD codec. I just had the same issue again on a system where CoreAVC was in use.

I think I have the same issue. I have hardware acceleration and with other media players, the files playback smoothly. With mediaportal they stutter and drop frames. I have tried the WinDVD and PowerDVD decoders; both produce the same results. This is on XP Pro SP3.

I figured I would add in some more information. I am using a singleseat install but my storage is a NAS; it is a windows (cifs) share of a raid 5 array on my main machine. The array has plenty of bandwidth and far exceeds what mediaportal needs. The network is running at 1 Gbps; so there should not be a bottleneck there. In fact, during playback I am at 1% utilization only of my network.

Hardware wise, I have a AMD X2 BE-2400 running an a ASUS M3N78 Pro (geforce 8300 igp) with 2gb ram. This combination plays back the recorded .ts files perfectly with windows media player. It is using hardware acceleration because my cpu usage is very low (under 10%).

Should this be a bug report since more than one person is experiencing this issue?

Nevermind to my issue. It was the nvidia drivers. I had 178.13 (latest) installed but for some reason my system was using an older version. I fixed this and now the stuttering is gone...
