I give the Basic Home a try with the upgrade to 1.0.1 but it's not usable to me because of very slow reaction.

e.g.: When I come back from EPG Guide to normal Home Screen it takes about a second. The same action back to Basic Home takes about 10seconds.
The same behaviour can be seen from every screen.

I'm using EVR.

Someone an Idea how to solve it?

the same thing is happening to me after upgrading to 1.0.1 and streamedmp v0.8.448

upgrading is never simple :/

edit: even the mediaportal configuration program is slower now...
i upgraded from 1.0. maybe i should have done a clean install?
b3w also lags...

ok, i think i figured out my problem. after looking through the logs I decided to disable the radio plugin. that solved all my problems!

I tried to disable all possible Plugins in BasicHome.
At the End I had a Basic Home with only Weather, TV, Video.
It didn't help. Still very slow.
Blue3Wide reacts here within a second. so definetly a skin problem.

Someone another Idea ?

I did a clean install on a new box. It ran like a, well slow.
I made the assumption it was the fact that I had reduced this box to 1GB RAM.
Not the case, I simply needed to give the SQL instance the "MediaPortal" password and she's back singing.
Prior to that the UI would take 1:46 to launch, now 19 seconds.
OBTW, I'll go ahead and slip in those 4GB's of RAM Newegg is sending me ;)

    See the 1GB RAM link.

Now I would like to know why I see no channels available with a scan.
I save that for the correct forum...

My TV Server definetly has password for SQL Server (I use SQL Server2005) saved in Gentle.config if this is what you mean.
Further my HTPC has 8GB RAM.

The whole UI is quite fast, only the Basic Home is not, and only with StreamedMP. :(

    I never had RSS activated.
I also try to disable Weather but it didn't get better.

Some configuration (e.g. without TV and VIDEO) seem to be much faster, at least by switching between the 2 home screens.
But going back from EPG Guide is still 1-2sec to Normal Home & +-10sec to Basic Home
