May not be related, but some security software see's bass.dll as a trojan and deletes\quarantines it.

If it is that, can you let the relevant company know it's part of mediaportal and why they think its a trojan

I am using AVG. No sign of it complaining and Bass.Net.dll is still in place

Everything worked fine until the 1.0.2 update

I have the exact same issue, but it happened upon upgrading to 1.0.1.

I also use AVG. can I get the bass.dll from anywhere?

You should be able to unquarantine it in AVG, just in case you cannot, then reinstall, just when you uninstall everything, keep the default uninstall options, then the most you should have to do, is enter the MediPortal password on opening TVServer config :)

I just checked the versions from the mpportal directory

    bass.dll 2.4.2.3
    bass.net.dll 2.4.3.1

BUT I also installed mptag a few weeks ago and the versions there are

    bass.net 2.4.0.0
    bass.net.dll 2.4.0.1

I just tried to install .net 3 and this failed as there is already a later version installed. So I tried to reinstall .net 3.5 and got a setup error (thats all - but found this message in the application event viewer: Product: Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 -- Installation completed successfully)

so no further progress in resolving this.....

I have the exact same problem when I upgraded to 1.0.1.0 and 1.0.2.0 (hoped it was resolved in .2.) I'm not running any antivirus software on my htpc. The machine doesn't have any other software installed than the latest windows patches, firefox and mediaportal.
