Dear Forum

when I am playing music via BASS player, the output to my sourround receiver (connected via HDMI) always shows 5.1 channels, although the source is just stereo.

The log section says:

This sounds for me, as if the sourround receiver shoud get a stereo signal instead of 5.1, but it still says receiving 5.1 input. When I use WASAPI, the output is set correctly to stereo and not 5.1, as well as for all other media like video and so on.

Of course I could use WASAPI, but for that you cannot select "Default Directsound Device", which I need for switching between devices.

Best regards
Thomas

I found the solution.
In the Sound device Setting of Windows the device was configured 5.1
BASS didn't reinitialize. Now I reconfigured the device as Stereo and use the Mediaportal Renderer. This works fine.
