Batch convert to XVID (externally) (1 Viewer)

Looking for a tool to

a) batch convert recorded shows into XVID with high resolution

b) batch convert recorded shows into MPEG4 at lower resolution (to put on Ipod e.g.)

c) been able to run in th background

d) watching folders and start converting, when new files show up


I do not really care if the MP database is updated with the converted file. And I understand the MPs internal XVID conversion is broken today, so I am looking for a solution. I googled, though there are a lot tools, I did not find one that really suits me. So I thought it is worth asking here,.. maybe someone has the same needs?!

(Info: a)+b) means that the show is converted two time: One file version for TV playback and a smaller one to keep on my Ipod.

Crunchie kannte ich schon. Hab selber in dem Thread gepostet. Dachte es gibt etwas anderes.

Hab mich schon gewundert, warum du schon wieder danach fragst?

What is it you would like to do , you cannot do with Crunchie?
Would you like to automate converting, or to convert when ever you like manually?
You say the program should watch a folder and convert automatically,
but you also say you would like to convert some files to hi-resolution and
some to ipod-resolution?
Should every recording being converted twice? Or just some of them ?
Can't Crunchie do that?

There was a version of DrDivx that had a watch folder feature, whenever a new file showed up in the folder it converted it to divx.
