It might be that TheTVdB changed API results. When manually checking the results from: http://www.thetvdb.com/api/GetSeries.php?seriesname=battlestar+galactica It shows both the orginal and the 2003 version: [collapse]
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> - <Data> - <Series> <seriesid>71173</seriesid> <language>en</language> <SeriesName>Battlestar Galactica</SeriesName> <banner>graphical/71173-g.jpg</banner> <Overview>When the 12 Colonies of Man are wiped out by a cybernetic race called the Cylons, Commander Adama (Lorne Greene) and the crew of the battlestar Galactica lead a ragtag fleet of human survivors in search of a "mythical planet" called Earth.</Overview> <FirstAired>1978-09-17</FirstAired> <IMDB_ID>tt0076984</IMDB_ID> <zap2it_id>SH000492</zap2it_id> <id>71173</id> </Series> - <Series> <seriesid>73545</seriesid> <language>en</language> <SeriesName>Battlestar Galactica (2003)</SeriesName> <banner>graphical/73545-g11.jpg</banner> <Overview>In a distant part of the universe, a civilization of humans live on planets known as the Twelve Colonies. In the past, the Colonies have been at war with a cybernetic race known as the Cylons. 40 years after the first war the Cylons launch a devastating attack on the Colonies. The only military ship that survived the attack takes up the task of leading a small fugitive fleet of survivors into space in search of a fabled refuge known as Earth.</Overview> <FirstAired>2003-12-08</FirstAired> <IMDB_ID>tt0407362</IMDB_ID> <zap2it_id>SH710749</zap2it_id> <id>73545</id> </Series> </Data>
[/collapse] and there is no way to rename it to only show the original by itself. So this looks to be a bug introduced by recent changes done by TheTVdB website. I just ran a test myself and it indeed picks up the wrong "(2003)" show. Now a temporary solution you can do is to disable the following option:
Config -> "Online Data" -> "Automatically choose Series when an exact match is found online"
This should force both 1978 and 2003 version to show, so you can select the correct one. And I've submitted the bug to the right place (also found another bug while testing this one), being the Google Code website, so that it doesn't get lost. Be patient on it getting fixed, but in the meantime try the above workaround.
