black and white image using S-video with radeon 9250 (1 Viewer)

Hi,

i recently replaced by RSA cable (1->1) that was connecting my tv with my pc using s-video adapters,
with a new and complete s-video to s-video cable.

although i didn't change any settings, after connecting it i'm only seeing black-and-white image.
i also noticed that the s-video adapter to the pc has more pins than the s-video cable (in the middle).

anyone has an idea how to fix this?

i am suspicous of the video card and planning on buying the ATI HD 3650 AGP instead.

If you have colour at the bios prompt (before machine boots to windoze) then you can safely say its not a problem with card or connection.

If color issue only occurs when windoze starts, then use catalyst to set the correct svideo settings for your country/region. You may also want to check the colour settings.

the drivers w catalyst control centre are available from ati.amd.com

I have a radeon (9200) and use a standard svideo cable with it. Like yours, it has less pins (4) than the output plug on the card itself, but it works ok.

Also, check to see if there's an NTSC/PAL jumper on the card. Some of the radeons have these and if its set to the wrong position for your country can produce this result.
