WinXP MCE is set up for 1280x768, the native resolution of the connected flat panel. The problem has been present since I purchased the unit almost a year ago and persists despite driver updates and attempts to fix it using 3d party software, such as MCE Standby Tool. The symptoms are the same, even when no application (e.g. MP) was running at the time of hibernation. The only way to recover is to forcibly shut down by holding the power button down for 4 seconds, reboot and then take the option to delete recovery files and restart. The unreliability of startup means that almost a year after purchase, and untold hours of configuration, customization and troubleshooting, the unit has a WAF of zero.
