Why on earth dont you use aero? Its not a resource hog, and you're machine will easily cope with it.

Why should developers spend time on a problem that essentially that you are causing by refusing to use the Vista operating software as advised in the wiki?

However if you must insist on using VMR exclusive then try changing your video codec to ffdshow or nvidia.

maybe because Windows Vista Basic DOES NOT HAVE THE AERO THEME? , i have tried many codecs with the same problem so if you don't have the solution to the problem, stop posting your useless comments?

Not true. You can have full DXVA acceleration under XP using VMR9.

no i don't have aero, i have disabled the eye candy in windows vista
should i enable it for the EVR to work correctly? thanks for your help.

hmmm, strange thing, when i set theme to windows vista basic there is tearing with evr (smth is broken)
but when i set theme to windows vista standar there is no tearing..

i have windows vista home basic btw

On Vista Home basic, the Windows Vista Standard Theme is the equivalent of Windows Aero on the other Vista editions.
For EVR with HW acceleration you need to be running the Desktop Window Manager(DWM), which is activated with
the Windows Aero theme or, in the case of Vista Home Basic, the Vista Standard Theme (not Basic or Classic).

no mater what the theme is and the aero acceleration etc the problem still exists with VMR (which is the default mode and not experimental) with the Use exclusive mode option enabled...
did anyone check the logs/?
