Hi,

This issue might have been answered a hundred billion times, but searchin for "black screen" gave me thousands of threads, so, I'll go ahead and post my issue here.

On some movies, when I play it, the screen is black. The movie is not playing at all - that is, if I press 'space', it "pauses" the movie, but it shows 0:00:00 of x:xx:xx (it finds the length of the movie) and the "Pause"-icon in the top-right corner. If I skip +15 sec (for example, I can use any value), it jumps the given amount, and shows the picture/frame. If I press 'space', it starts "playing", but the picture is at the very same place.

There is no audio - but as it's not "playing", I guess this is why.

This issue happens on random movies - I haven't figured out the "pattern" of wich movies that doesnt work.

I cleaned up the log-folder, ran MP, went straight into My Movies, selected the film (Casino Royale 1080p), and startet playback. I paused it, and un-paused it. Then I skipped +30 seconds, showing the Colombia-intro-thingie. I paused, and un-paused again. Then I quit MP. I went straight in and got the logs, and here are they;

error.log - pastebin - collaborative debugging tool
MediaPortal.log - pastebin - collaborative debugging tool
vmr9.log - pastebin - collaborative debugging tool

As far as I can renember, it's only 1080p-files this is happening with. All of them are .MKV-files. I'm using ffdshow as video and audio decoder.

Every movie I have a problem with, opens just fine within Windows using VLC/ZoomPlayer/WMPC.

    haali media splitter, make sure compatability\autoload vsfilter set to YES

    Maybe try this regfix for filetypes to be recognised by windows, so WMP will play them with the correct directshow filters.

    View attachment avi.doc

    Change the file extention to reg and then right click, open with registry editor.

    Even thou I know this option should be set, it wasn't. I think I rushed too fast through the codec-installs after last re-format.

    Thanks a billion!
