Turn off timeshifting and TV comes back as normal. Obviously also get a black screen and no audio when recording HOWEVER the saved recording plays back fine!</p><p></p><p>I've checked the forum for this problem and tried whatever people had suggested (delete 'Card1' folder from under 'My Recordings', disable 'Use Exclusive DirectX..' setting) but these don't cure it. The threads also seem to end suddenly with no clear solution.</p><p></p><p>I should mention that when i first installed MP the problem existed, then one day it suddenly worked, then i must've done something (not sure what) because it soon stopped working. The fact that it did once work is encouraging.</p><p></p><p>What i'd really like is a list of possible causes and things to try. I am a little reluctant to do a clean install of MP as after much tinkering i now have the TV working perfectly(ish).
