Synopsis:
I use Mediaportal on my Desktop PC and the video out from the videocard connected to the TV. Everything works OK. Mediaportal is shown in a window on my desktop PC and the contents of the Mediaportal client area is shown on the TV filling the screen. However when I turn My TV on, the picture is shown in Medioportal only. On my TV set it is shown as a black rectangle. The videocard is set to Clone mode and overlay on the secondary (TV) display. How can I get the output of the WinTV tuner to fill the black rectangle on the TV. I think it has something to do with VMR9 but how do I set it? What should the settings of my videocard be?

BTW: My thanks to all developers of Mediaportal, it is a great package!

Thanks for the answer, but when I do that I get a black image on my monitor and the TV.
There must be something else that I forgot to set. Maybe the Direct3D settings? Some setting for the videocard?

I just noticed that when I put it on VMR9 renderless, TV On is deselected and I cannot turn it on. Only the user interface freezes for a split second.

I dived into the DirectShow filter stuff and came across GraphEdit. When I put the renderer to Overlay in MP and startup GraphEdit, I can see the DirectShow filter graph. (Rather complex) When I put the renderer to VMR9 in MP, I am not able to display the filter graph in GraphEdit. So I guess that MP is not able to create a DirectShow filter graph. Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

    Hi,

if the graph building by MP does not work, you should see it in the logs.

    /Team Media Portal/MediaPortal/logs/
    mediaportal.log
    capture.log
    error.log

    I made the following logs:

    - with OVERLAY selected: The monitor shows MP in a window with a video image; On the TV-set I see alternating MP in full screen and the video image in full screen. It looks like both are competing for the overlay.
    logs:

    - with VMR9 renderless: The monitor shows MP in a window without a video image; I cannot select TV On. TV shows a black screen.

Who can make something from the logfiles? How can I solve the error?
