I folks, sorry to bother you all, I have a BGT3602 TV card, on a single PCI-E 1 card it has 2xT2 and 2xS2 decoders. All four work fine with Media centre under Windows 8.1 x64

I used to use MP1 with an older card and it was a bit sketchy so dropped it after awhile, but with this new card I figured id give it another shot with the newer MP2.

Basically the 2 T2 decoders work fine but I cant get either of the two S2 decoders to pick up any channels (im only using one at the mo but I tried both). TVSetup detects them all, I can configure them, download the update lists, rescan and it works its way through them but finds nothing. Ive made sure media centre services were all stopped, I tried swapping the coax cable about, I tried single transponder scans, still comes back with nothing, I must be completely dense or something today because I cant work it out

ive attached the log files from MP server if it can be of any help./

As I said, the T2 side works fine, and plays correctly in MP2 as well, nothing to complain about there, its just the S2 side of things, possibly because its a hybrid card? I dunno, my last card was also an S2/T hybrid and that was ok its just this one...

hope you can help!

    Hello and welcome Dee :)

First let me say that all parts of your tuner should work. The fact that the S2 tuners don't would be considered a bug.

I have two suggestions for you to try.

First: in TV Server configuration, edit the settings for the S2 tuners. Change "idle mode" from "stop" to "always on". Save and close TV Server configuration. Restart MP2 Server then try to scan again.

If the first suggestion doesn't work...
Stop MP2 Server. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the MP2 Server install folder. Within that folder find the plugins folder; within the plugins folder find the Native TV folder; within the Native TV folder find the plugins folder; within the plugins folder find the CustomDevices folder; move all the DLLs named like "Microsoft..." out of that folder. A good idea would be to put them in the Resources subfolder.
Now start MP2 Server and try to scan again.

If both of those suggestions don't work, please post fresh log files for me.

    Regards,
    mm

    Thank you so much!

It worked on the second suggestion!

I have to admit though that after doing the first suggestion I didn't revert it back, before attempting the second so the solution may be the second or a combo of the two. Once its finished scanning ill try it out and see whats what. ill repost my logs anyway in case it can be of use to someone. Once ive done that ill set the first suggestion back to the original setting, wipe the channels, and try again to confirm which method fixed it.

oh its no bother, if there is anything i can do just let me know!

Ok, latest update, so the first suggestion made no difference what so ever, it was only after the second suggestion of removing those files was followed through that it started to work. Another odd one was the first time I ran the scan I only picked up about 300 channels, all mostly Vertical polarity, it only picked up the rest after trying another scan, its just finishing that now, all the BBC channels were missing the last time and no S2 HD channels made it so ill get back to you in a few with the logs which should cover it all[DOUBLEPOST=1411424281][/DOUBLEPOST]oh I forgot to mention, I had a crash with it whilst it was scanning too, the PC auto locked the desktop (with password set) once I resumed it had crashed the mpserver, had to restart service for TVsetup to work again.

Scan complete, its found some more but still well short of what ive had previously and no main BBC channels, in fact it looks like its only picked up some of the sky channels, most encrypted, no BBC C4, itv etc, please find logs attached.
