Blank Screen after Watching Film/Tv Show (1 Viewer)

Hi All,

Feels like its been ages since i had time to sort my PC out with MP. Anyway my HDD went about 6 months ago, the only thing i didn't have backed up was MP DB's D'oh. Anyway up and running again and loving the skin, i was on v.0.7 before my HDD went i must say the skin has made some great improvements in v1.2.

BUT, I've got an issue when i watch a film or TV show. Everytime I close the video it returns to MP with a BLANK screen. The topbar is still visible which allows me to return to the homepage which sorts the issue out. But it is a tad annoying when i watch a TV Show and have to keep going back to the homepage. Has anybody else came across this issue???? If so can you help

Do you have the same issue with the Blue3 skin?

My first thought was that might have something to do with MP version 1.1.0 Alpha using an external player.

Any errors in your logfiles?

I think this is a problem if you use old MP (1.0.2) but new SAF (400 beta1).

Do you have these?

I have exactly the same problem. I'm using WIN7 + MP 1.1.0 Beta + TV series v2.3.3517 (everything up-to-date). My external player is Zoom Player (maybe this is the reason?)

What codex do you use? Do you use Zoom player? Have you tried to play the video without Zoom?

I've made some tests:

Internal player -> everything OK
Zoom Player -> black screen on return to MP
Windows Media Player -> black screen on return to MP
VLC -> black screen on return to MP

Then to eliminate codecs, I made my external player "Zoom player", but without any parameters (so when I click video file, It just starts Zoom Player, but no video is running (no cedecs)).
Result: Black screen.

I assume it has to be something wrong, when external player exists (no screen refresh?). TopBar is active and works fine.

LOG file doesn't show anything wrong (or does it?):

I recommend you bring you problem to the MediaPortal developers. There isn't much we can do for you here; this is the "Black & White 1080" skin sub-forum.
