Blank screen during Preview TVServer (1 Viewer)

TV-Server Version: Latest SVN
Windows Version: Vista
Motherboard: ACER L5100
Video Card: MPC788

When I try to preview a chanel in TvServer, it gives me a blkack screen.
Timeshifting is working, also stream is working (checked with VLC)
I have teh feeling that it has something to do with the codecs.
I've also installed interVideo for the codecs.

Has someone some advise?

Hi,
Seems like your TsReader.ax it's missing, is this a server setup(no MP/Client installed)?
Check also if the TsReader.ax it's in TV Server folder..

I had the same problem.

to fix:

Copy "tsreader.ax" from MediaPortal folder to TvServer folder.
create a ".bat"(batch) file in the TvServer folder (like tsreader.bat)
edit ".bat" file and copy the following text into the ".bat" file

regsvr32.exe /s "%~dp0tsreader.ax"

run ".bat" file and all be OK.

Ehhh, this it's totally wrong because TV Server uses the one regged, if it is in TV Server folder or MP root dir shouldn't matter, this just means that the one in MP dir it's not regged in a singleseat installation.

Hi Roy, TsReader.ax wasn't in the TV Server folder. I did a fresh installation with the new installer for TvServer! So there is work for something and for someone if the tsreader.ax is still needed. I also miss the tswriter.ax?

I had the same problem.

The tsreader.ax wasn't also in the MediaPortal folder. Adventualy I grapped it form my other computer.

After register the tsreader.ax Now I had the No Video/Audio error back. I was on XP, and wanted to make a fresh vista installation. After restarting the Service the error is gone, but maybe it will appear again after some testing.
Do I need also the TsWriter.ax? And is it allowed to use a *.ax file from an other setup / version?

Hi,
TsReader.ax it's needed for both MP & TV Server, but as long as it is installed in MP folder & registered TV Server will use that one. Only time i have seen this removed was with the old msi installer which removed the registrated one no matter where it was located. The new installer only removes the on it installs & not if some of MP related progs needs it. Dunno why we still have a mess with this one, maybe a reboot or something along the update was needed.
For now just use the one you find & work, but don't report bugs with it

Hmmm... I've started this new fresh installation for the 'No Video/Audio detected' messages to see if I had the same problems with it on a Vista platform. And yes, I do still have the same problem and messages.
But that's an other tread

I do not have that file. Neither in MP folder nor in TV server folder...

Hi,
To find out some mmore about this do the following:
1. uninstall TVE3/TVPlugin(you don't have to delete all folder & settings)
2. REBOOT
3. Install latest MediaPortal SVN(or same version number as TVE3/TVPlugin you will use)
4. Use open MP Configuration & save
5. Install TVE3/TVPlugin
6. Use option to open TV Setup
7. Fill in password & let TV Setup start
8. Click ok to save& start testing.

If files still are missing after this, there it's something wrong with TVE3 installer or MP installer, but that will tell if you follow the above step.
