Blank Screen on startup (2 Viewers)

When starting media portal everything loads and the MP screen comes up however there is no GUI. I get the MP window , File, Options, Wizards where the GUI normally go I can just see my desktop. Direct X problem?

DirectX up-to-date... this one has me scratching my head. The mediaportal.log file looks good up until this

Is your version of Vista 64 or 32, have you got UAC disabled

Qosmio graphics should be upto running MP (pretty sure they are dx9 capable), as was thinking of getting one myself.

All your errors are Directx related though, are there any graphics driver updates, or can you change possibly the amount of ram allocated to graphics.

I would uninstall MP, do anything listed above to possibly rectify any DX errors, and then reinstall MP after reboot.

Vista 32, UAC is disabled. I uninstalled MP and made sure all drivers are up-to-date. DX10 is good and my video card drivers. I have had nothing but problems in the past with uninstalling DX and trying to get it installed again. Let me do some head scratching on this one.. Hahah

I have a similar problem on a HP Vectra VL400 with an Intel 82815 Graphics Controller on Windows XP SP2. It works fine with 0.2.3.0, but not with the newest builds, including RC1. Same symptoms, same error "Could not find window".

Ya I ended up reinstalling vista before figuring it out, and yes this did fix the directx problem. Good luck my friend! haha
