"blocked" video playback on Internal Player (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I just installed a fresh copy of XP and media portal.
For some reason playback of any video file on Mediaportal looks not so good - you can see "blocks", hard to explain.
It's like you play a very small res video file and make it full screen.
The playback on media player classic or any other player looks just fine.
Any suggestions?
Can the media player classic and the internal player use different decoder for xvid?

I'm gonna guess your video card is old and does not support DirectX9, which is required of VRM9-exclusive mode that MP uses.

actually its nvidia fx5200
im pretty sure it supports dx9

Follow Goose's codec guide and see if that helps.

Yep it's a DX9 card, but apparently all features cannot be enabled.

It's also down to CPU and graphics card combination as one tries to make up for any weakness in the other.
