Any standard definition video played in MediaPortal (Cable TV AND DVD Movies) gives me a very blocky picture. By this I mean poor blacks/shadows (pink/blue blotches) and video looks overly pixelated. I do not receive any of these 'picture artifacts' when playing the same video (eg. DVD) in Cyberlink PowerDVD or VLC...

I have tried a variety of codecs in Mediaportal (Nero, Cyberlink, ffdshow) & none seem to make a single difference... Anyone else have such problems/possible causes or ideally a way to get the picture looking how it should (ie. It does in Power DVD & VLC)?

I have a similar problem when playing DVD-files using the internal player. The image is very blocky and also poor blacks/Shadows. Also parts of the image are misaligned when showing pans.
Non of these problems occur when using PowerDVD as an External Player.

If have Media Portal setup to use PowerDVD's Codecs for both audio and video.

When I turn PowerDVD Hardwardware acceleration off in MediaPortal the pixalation (blockyness) is gone but the image does not look as sharp as with powerDVD, the other problems mentioned are still there.

I use the latest RC2 release of MediPortal on Windows XP
Only PowerDVD Codecs are Installed.

Anyone any Ideas?
