Blu-Ray ISO will not start (2 Viewers)

I can't get blu-ray iso's to start from My Films but they start fine from Moving Pictures. I'm using the Arcsoft TMT5 MC plugin as an external player configured in MediaPortal and VirtualCloneDrive 5.4.5.0. After pressing play if I check the virtual drive I can see that the iso is mounted but the player does not launch. This happens on 2 different PCs both running Windows 7.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Please check, if your isos play fine with internal player, e.g. from myvideos - myfilms uses the same. Did you install the arsoft player launcher? See also wiki for some basic help for supported media.

    Hi

Check out the following posts . This issue has already been raised and appears to be a known problem with MyFilms. Next update hopefully will fix this issue.
Been playing around this morning having installed the BDhandler plugin and after I disabled moving-pictures option to use TMT for BD playback the BDHandler plugin worked.
Great news I thought - if it works in moving-pictures it should work in MyFilms. Not so.:mad: Trying to launch the exact same movie from MyFilms does nothing still -even though moving-pictures will launch it OK usng the BDHandler process plugin.
I must be missing something in setup but can't figure out what. The .iso is mounted OK but just wont play.
    Hi Jono25,
yeah, I remember there was an issue:
MyFilms: Fixed playback of BR-folders (index.bdmv) with BDHandlerIt is fixed in current trunk, but that was after release of 5.1. Unfortunately, I won't manage to get the 5.2 public version out before christmas, as there is still some work in progress - but anyone interested getting a current testversion can drop me a PM and get it of course.
Sorry you've been hit by that...

Re: AW: Blu-Ray ISO will not start

Hi Guzzi, thanks for your reply.
I've now installed the BluRayPlayerLauncher and I can now start a bluray iso from the MediaPortal Videos menu using the ArcSoft player but it still won't start from My Films. Any ideas?

Hi Jono25, thanks for the reply. Not sure your post is the same problem I'm having because I'm not using BDHandler. I want to be able play my bluray iso as if I'd put the physical disk into a physical BD drive.

I think we are talking about the same thing here. To launch a Blu-Ray iso from MyFilms is not possible. The iso will mount when you select "play" in MyFilms but wont play. Then with the iso mounted you have to come out of MyFilms and select the Blu-Ray Handler plugin to launch and play the iso in TMT. (At least after much searching the forums this is what I discovered will work). This is not a satisfactory solution but at present it seems this is the way to play BD iso's (if you dont use moving-pictures plugin) .
BDHandler is another plugin that should do the same thing as BluRay Player launcher but instead of using TMT it launches the BD iso within MP internal player (much more convenient!) BDHandler will work within Moving-Pictures but not MyFilms . However , and crucially moving- Pictures can be set up to launch TMT directly without the Blu-ray Handler or BDHandler plugin so until MYfilms can do the same I'd use moving-pictures.

    Hope this helps.

Re: AW: Blu-Ray ISO will not start

Ok Jono25, I understand now. I hadn't realised you had to use MyFilms to mount the iso then exit and select the Bluray launcher. If you're right then it's not the solution I was looking for.
I'd already managed to get Moving Pictures working with bluray isos but it was the ability to use a movie catalog which could be located in a single place on the network and accessed remotely from clients (AMC) which made me want to use My Films. It's a shame it doesn't have blu-ray iso handling as it would have been the perfect fit for me.
Many thanks for your clear explanation.

AW: Blu-Ray ISO will not start

I used both variants in the past (Using CloneDVD for mounting ISOs):
1.) BlurayPlayerLauncher to (automatically!) launch Arcsoft TMT3 and watch BD iso
2.) Using BD-Handler and play BR insode Mediaportal directly (without textual menu as restriction of BD-handler of course)
iirc, for variant 2 the fix mentioned above is needed - variant 1 works since public release.
MoPi afaik has internal routine to automatically start the "biggest media file" found on the ISO - so it can play many BR discs wthout "external help".

So if I have read this correctly, there is currently no way to launch a bluray iso directly in an external player?
I noticed that it does mount it in Virtual Clonedrive but does not launch. Specifically I am currently using, moving pictures/bluray Launcher/Power Dvd and it works fine. However I have been trying to make a move to My Films because of better handling of box sets and multiple discs.
I need the external player for 3d Movies, which the internal player wont handle.

So if it is not currently possible, is it something that is being looked at sometime? Should it be a feature request? o_O

See post above - I used it in the past with BluRayPlayerLauncher and it was automatically launching TMT3 for me, when starting a BR ISO file from MyFilms; - it is depending on the BRPL plugin itself, as MyFilms just uses it's functionality.
So if it works in MyVideos, it will also work in MyFilms.

Hmmm, I've tried it with BluRayPlayerLauncher on my 2 test setups (not main media centre) and both will mount the image, but thats all that happens. It does not launch the player. Both work with Moving Pictures fine, mounting, suspending Media Portal, changing resolution and launching player. Tried everything I could but nothing works. I have tried it with TMT5 and Powerdvd 12 with no change. I also tried it with BD-Handler and it will play movies fine as in option 2 in your post above, which is something, but this is not suitable for for me :(
I can go manually to play disc menu and it will then play as someone mentioned above.

Any idea of what I need to look for from here to get it running? I really like what I've seen so far and am very keen to use it as my main movie handler!
