Hi there,

I'm new to Media Portal and so far it is a great experience. The only problem i am having is playing blu ray discs. I had this same problem using MyMovies in VMC. I fixed it then by switching to Virtual Clonedrive. What happens is after i mount a blu ray image, TMT opens up and says it is unable to play the disc. If i manually mount it in VCD, they play fine. Is there any way to have Media Portal use VCD instead of Daemon Tools? I find VCD to be much more responsive and just generally more reliable...

I would love for this to be included in MP as well, but have found a way to get it working. There is a plugin called MediaSlayer, that includes some DLLs (written for RC3) that seem to work for me so far with MP RC4. The information for the plugin can be found here:

And my brief instructions on just VCD support can be found here:

MediaPortal Install Guide - Page 3 - AVS Forum

I'd love to hear more about including these DLLs and the possibility to add this functionality into the next build of MP.

Yea.. using media slayer enables VCD support.. works great BUT its so old that all other plugins now suffer... Just went thorugh this.. so its either use MP with VCD and no other plugins OR MP with all other plugins and no VCD...

This is frustrating especially when VCD is much more popular and stable for that matter..

Really? I have that skin and that plugin, and haven't really had any problems so far. What are you experiencing?

I don't have the actual plugin for MediaSlayer installed at all, because all I want is VCD. I just did a replacement of the 2 .dll files needed to enable the VCD support, and so far have not had any problems.
