Hello MediaPortal Team!

As this is my first post here I -first of all- would like to say THANK YOU for this GREAT software!!
(Even my wife likes to use/play around in MP)

Ok, now back to the real topic:
Basically I like the new skin, but nevetheless I like Blue2-Skin even more.

In my opinion the Blue3 layout in general is nice, but a bit too colourful which gives a very childish touch to the overall layout.
Blue2 for instance looks very professional/serious, minimalistic (to some extend) and elegant.

So I would really appreciate if you could keep an eye on this aspect - because for me MP is much more than just a toy ...

So please keep up your excenlent work, and I'm really looking forward to the final R1.0

Agree with poster, it does look childish. Maybe great for some but on the several thousand dollars system it's strange to see jumping pokemons on the screen. ;)

Odd as I have always considered the xface, PM3 etc to look childish :)

There are other skins. You don't have to stick with the default :)

Also, once MP 1.0 is out and Blue 3 is finished,no doubt someone will make a few variants.

Sure, the are other skins - so far I think Blue Two is the best!

BTW - my 22-month old son already knows how to turn on his cartoons on MP! MP is the best! :D

I just never get what people see in the blue2 skin. It just looks like no thought is put in it WHAT SO EVER!
I think blue3 is nice, but i'll stick with MonoChrome. It nice and simple, and easy to configure.

Also, in most of the available skins, has anyone noticed that some text/graphic placements seem random? Like there is no structure in de graphical layout?

I tend to agree with initial post

    Dear MP development team,
as RC3 is for sure another major milestone forward I´d like to provide some feedback to the Blue3 skin.

This skin has some very neat features, moves and animations and it does really mark another milestone from a applied skin "technology" perspective.

But: Would there be a possibility to add a Blue3 skin variation to the installer which does not contain the cartoon "tubbies".
There are so many really nice images around for the main categories e.g. in the Black & White Skin area and if it should not be so colorful in the Monochrome / Indigo area as well....which would make this skin a little more acceptable for "public" showing at home.

Not to get me wrong here... I really appreciate what you have been realizing, but I do doubt that the goal of Blue3 is that children love MP. I showed the skin to my daughter and she was close to "freak out".
A lot of people I know come to see me and are usually keen to have a look at my "tekkie"-stuff and I am not even daring to show them this skin version as they will think that I have been watching too many catoons lately (or did drink too much..etc.)

So Blue3 is not an option for me yet, although I like the overall concept.

    My questions to the experts:

Would a "neutralized" version with normal 3D icons not be worth a thought as you have been laying a very good foundation here and the roll out with the "master" installer would be the easiest way to reach a broader user community.

    regards

To get rid of the MePo Persons just go into C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal and click on the skin folder.

Open the Blue3/Blue3wide folder, click on the media folder, then delete all of the MePo Persons.

In Tools/Folder Options/View check Show hidden files and folders.

Then go into C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal click on the MediaPortal folder and delete all of the files in the Cache folder.

And Voila, no more MePo Persons :).

    Hi,

If you are interested I can develop a Skin using MP3 advancements with MP2 background and MP2 Icons, or MP3 background with MP2 icons.

I am currently redeveloping the Xface skin, an absolutely brillliant skin, but without all of the cover art etc, purely to make it a professional/serious, minimalistic and elegant skin.

    Just let me know:).
