Brand new installation, can't use TV - Connection failed! (1 Viewer)

Hi, this is driving me round the twist.

Ive puchased Windows 8.1, upgraded to 8.1 Pro with MediaCentre and it all works perfectly (MediaCentre just works!!!)

I would like to get MediaPortal TV to work also, I had it working (single seat) about a year ago but lately it just will not connect, the initial SQL test always fails so can't proceed (see below)

My computer name is 'HTPC'
User name is 'root'
Password is 'MediaPortal'

Any ideas?? I'm using a simple single seat configuration, it really should not be this difficult to set up!

I uninstalled MP/MySQL and cleaned up folders and did a complete re-install and still no joy!
