Hi,

i'm using MP 0.2.3 final (newest SVN) with tvserver3 as single seat. Used codec is Cyberlink PowerDVD
I can not find the color settings (brightness, contrast,..) for MP global, TV, Video and DVD. In the "MediaPortal Configuration" under "DirectShow Filter Control" i can set colors only for "MPV Decoder" but not for "PowerDVD 7 Decoder Settings".

Thanks for help.

I have tested color changes in ATI Catalysis Avivo (Video settings), but there are no differences to see in MP TV or MP Movie. If I use PowerDVD player all changes were displayed.
It looks like MP overright the ATI Catalysis Avivo settings.

Have anyone same problems?

Alter the desktop settings inn Catalyst (gamma, brightness and contrast). I believe the video settings is referring to overlay, but MP uses VMR9.

Mark: This will also affect skins etc. (and desktop off course :))

If I make changes in catalysis under color, it affects MP global (Backgound, Skin, ...). But if I choose TV, DVD or Movie different settings were loaded and MP Background/Skin color change to standard settings. I dont know from where these standard settings comes.
I think both overlay and vmr9 loads the video settings from codec/ATI Avivo section.

Under Vista my nvidia forceware settings (brightness/contrast) only work within Media Portal if I have it set for EVR. If I set Media Portal to use VMR9 then my nvidia forceware settings have no impact. I understand you are running ati/catalyst but it might work the same way.

Keep in mind there is a known gamma bug with Media Portal when using VMR9 and selecting EVR corrected the issue for me under Vista. Here is a link regarding it..

I use WinXP and I think VMR9 and EVR is not possible in XP.

Anyone knows a different method to do brightness/contrast changes in MP-TV/DVD/Movie running under WinXP ?

MP uses VMR9 by default @ XP.
VMR @ XP can be done, but no hardware acceleration.
