Hello,

I know this may not be the most appropriate category for this subject, so please mods, point me to the right location if this causes any inconvenience.

Since a few days, I have what I may call a minor annoyance, but it turns out to be very irritating. Since it happens regardless of the skin (it has been observed on Black Glass, Blue3 or StreamedMP), I guess it's not skin-related. Since it happens in both MyTVSeries and Moving Pictures, I guess it's not plugin-related. But I don't know if it's MP-related, since at first hand I wasn't experiencing that issue... Let me try to explain.

There's a formatting problem that happens after I played one video. It can be a simple SD AVI, or a x264 MKV, or a DVD ISO, or a WMV... It always happens after I play a video for the first time after boot. The image below illustrates the problem:

As you see, several parts of the layout are broken. Now this is a screenshot of MyTVSeries, but the issue also happens in Moving Pictures. For both plugins, I'm using the latest stable releases (MyTVSeries 2.3.3538 and Moving Pictures 0.7.5), and I'm running MP 1.1.0.0.

Also, during playback, the OSD items are also corrupted, as depicted below:

The funny thing is, if I go back to the home screen and type ESC a couple of times on there, the displays resets to show up perfect. But then again, after the next playback, it's all back to the corrupted mode.

I upgraded all the filters I use (ffdshow, Haali and CoreAVC with CUDA) to their latest versions. I also updated the ION drivers. Nothing changed. Then I downgraded MP to stable version 1.02, and the formatting issue disappeared.

I reinstalled everything with betea 1.1.0, Moving Pictures 0.7.5.681 and MPTvSeries 2.3.3589, and I disabled ffdshow from the post processing filters. It fixed the issue, but now tearing happens when playing MPEG4 files. If I force ffdshow again, , tearing disappears but the skin formatting issues are back. So it seems to be something between MP beta 1.1.0 and ffdshow.

I'd be really interested knowing if anybody else has already ancountered the same issue, and more important if -- and how -- that person could get rid of it.

For the record, and to whom this may interest, I finally found a way to solve the issue : I removed the last ffdshow build, and I installed the CCCP filter pack in place. All problems gone, skins formatting is perfect, no more tearing. Life is wonderful ;-)
