In my current setup I have a fileserver doing all of the well file serving (duh
). It contains my DVD collection (ripped full DVD's to HD), contains some TV shows I recorded and some Xvid series.
I mapped a drive letter to this share and when I play one of these files it almost always goes without trouble (100mbit network), but very occasionally I get a sort of hickup and the video is performing poorly for about a few seconds.
Now I wanted to set the buffer on networked shares, but I can't find it. I can't see it being in MP and when I search the forums I get the buffering of server/client architecture topic which, though interesting as it may be, wasn't really what I was looking for.
Is there a possibility to buffer network shares for playback?
